KMM expects to remain closed for the rest of 2025 for building works

‘The Museum’s landlord (the Ministry of Defence) has been planning for some time to repair or replace The Keep’s roof, setting aside a lot of money to do so. While scoping the project the builders found that the roof may not be safe. As a result, the Museum closed on 1 October and will remain so until work is done to make it safe. We expect to be closed for the whole of 2025. Meanwhile, the staff are working in the Army Reserve Centre on Poundbury Road.

The staff will work on protecting the collection and preparing for the future.

Opening Times

We are open every day of the week from 10:00am-4:30pm. Last entry to the museum is at 3:30pm.

Admission Prices

please note that new admission prices will come into effect on the 1st of June 2024 and will be as follows;

• Adult - £8.00 (Annual Ticket £10.00)
• Senior - £6.50 (Annual Ticket £8.50)
• Student - £5.00 (Annual Ticket £7.00)
• Children (under 18) – £3.50 (Annual Ticket £5.50)
• Children (under 5) - Free
• Family (2 adults & 3 children) - £20.00 (Annual Ticket £25.00)
• Serving Soldiers, Members of the D&D Regimental Association, Keep Friends and Carers – Free

We offer free entry for carers to the Museum, as well as free entry for Serving Armed Forces visitors and Keep Friends. Please note that we ask to see MOD90 identification cards and membership cards for free Serving Armed Forces and Keep Friends admissions.

We do not allow dogs in to the Museum, unless they are working assistance dogs.

Group Visits

We can accommodate group visits at discounted rates. For groups of 20 or more we offer a 20% discount on the price of admission, and 40% for groups of 30 or more. Group visits must be booked in advance to receive discounted rates of entry. We are also able to offer guided tours and talks for groups when booked in advance.
