The Wessex Military History Group meets via zoom and in person during the last week of every month.
May’s online Zoom talk is titled “The Battle of Agincourt”. The talk will describe the dynastic and political background and causes of the Hundred Years War, and describe the great English victories at Crecy in 1346 and Poitiers in 1356. It will explore the nature of warfare at the time, the weaponry and the make up of the English and French armies, before looking at King Henry V’s campaign of 1415 which culminated in the complete English victory at Agincourt, achieved against the odds.
