A novel by a local writer, set in WW2 Dorset.

Heading home on leave in 1942, Peter Samways is totally traumatised by the devastating news that awaits him in his Dorset village, the magnitude of which seems irrevocable. Intrinsic to the story is Peter’s father, Archie, who, along with other Dorset characters, innocently reveal the language and routines that have spanned the generations, little realising they are standing on the cusp of a vanishing world.
